Free CPR and Stop the Bleed Classes
Saturday, May 18, 2019
Family & Friends® CPR is for people who want to learn CPR but do not need a course certification card in CPR for their job. This free non-certification course focuses on hands-only CPR and AED use on adults and infants. The class is open to all ages, but any minors should be accompanied by an adult.
Following each CPR course, North Metro firefighters will teach Stop the Bleed classes, which are also free to the public. Participants will learn how to pack a wound and apply a tourniquet when necessary. Getting bleeding under control is key to survival following a trauma.
Both classes are free to attend. The CPR class lasts approximately 2 hours, and the Stop the Bleed classes last approximately 30-45 minutes.
These classes are provided in part with support from the Broomfield Eagles Club and Mile High RETAC, which donates supplies and equipment for the classes. Registration ensures a class spot but is not required to participate as long as space allows.
