North Metro Firefighter Recognized for Community Service

Division Chief Bybee awards Firefighter Schuessler with the Optimist Club Award

Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedic Loren Schuessler, who was honored at the Optimist Club's Public Safety Appreciation and Recognition Dinner last week. Firefighter (FF) Schuessler was awarded for his dedication to community service and support for charities that help children overcome adversity.

FF Schuessler has been a firefighter and paramedic with North Metro Fire Rescue District for five years. During that time, he has gone above and beyond to support the community he serves. FF Schuessler has been a longtime supporter of the Regional Pediatric Burn Center and Burn Camps Program at Children’s Hospital Colorado through his work serving on the board for the Colorado Firefighter Calendar non-profit. He also chairs the St. Baldrick’s Head-Shaving Event in Broomfield that raises funding for childhood cancer research and support programs. Even when not serving in a leadership role, Loren volunteers his time to support numerous other events and charities in the community that provide support to children and families. Professionally, Loren continues to grow and excel as a firefighter and paramedic, having become a field training officer in EMS for the District and also earning his position on the District’s wildland team. North Metro Fire was honored to nominate FF Schuessler for the Optimist Club Public Safety Award. He is a committed team member with a heart for public service, and he is devoted to making our community a better and safer place for everyone.
