Fire Investigations
North Metro Fire Rescue District investigates the cause of all fires within its jurisdiction. Initial investigations are handled and conducted by qualified firefighters.
When the firefighters or incident commander are unable to determine the cause or believe the fire to be of a suspicious nature, they transfer the scene and investigation to the Fire Prevention Division’s fire investigators. There are two fire investigators specifically trained, equipped and scheduled to provide response capability.
If North Metro Fire investigators determine a fire to be suspicious in nature, they work closely with law enforcement agencies to pursue justice and resolution to any criminal activity.
